Hey Lady, Nice Cans!

My most favorite of allllllll the local rummage sales was last weekend!  It is run by the sweetest lil' ol' ladies in the gymnasium of the United Methodist Church's private elementary school.  It happens twice a year and is always frickin' amazing!  When you walk in into the gym its like a time machine.  All of the prices are frozen in time and a lot of the stuff is from the 50's & 60's!

The best part of this "event" is that it is two days long.  On Friday, you can go and buy things a'la carte but on Saturday there is a bag sale.  You can fill a brown paper grocery bag for $3!!!    If you plan it strategically, you get the must have's on Friday, anything else like linens, clothes etc.. that you can smash into a bag get purchased on Saturday. Naturally, I went both days and employed my tactics.  I got a large amount of stuff for a small amount of cash.  More bang for your buck baby!  Here are my favorite the jems from the sale!

Oh the colors!

I just can't seem to pass up a vintage canister set!  These are pink aluminum, with black metal lids.  The handle on the lid reads West Bend.  I dunno if they have been repainted, it kinda looks like there is a few coats of either paint or grease...ew.  Still, I got the whole set on Friday for drum, roll please....$1.50!!

This is my 3rd set of vintage canisters.  I actually use the 1st set in the kitchen, I think the and the 2nd and 3rd sets will end up on the ol' ebay auction block soon.  The tray is the exact same pattern as my kitchen table, counters, and a cupboard that I have.  I had the table before I moved into the apartment.  When I saw the counters for the first time, I knew it was meant to be!  I got a free standing cupboard a year or so later and now the tray!  I love my house!

These little aluminum coasters are so sweet!  There are 8 total.  I just love them and...
....they made great entertainment for my friend Dana's kid, Orion, at the restaurant we had lunch at after the sale.  Dana doesn't get to yard sale much with two little ones in tow.  It was great to have her come to the best rummage sale this side of the Mason Dixon.  She filled up 5 bags and spent a whopping $15!

Here is the leaf plate in all her glory.  I got those two little jars that day too!

I'm telling you that sale is the bees knees!  I'll have more from it coming soon!
